Course
Each lap is 1.061 miles around the lagoon at Crissy Field with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz and the San Francisco Bay. Welcome the new year at Crissy Field, run from 2011 through to 2012 surrounded by the beautiful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the coastline. You might even get to see the fireworks!     Bib & Shirt Pick-Up
    At Crissy Field at the following times:
    24h - 8:00 a.m. - 8:45 a.m.
    12h - 11:00 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.
    6h - 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.
    Aid Stations
    Fully-stocked aid station every mile. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. There will be hot soup and pizza in the evening.
    Awards
    Greenlayer hi-tech shirt will be given to all runners. There will be 10-year age groups awards. All participants will receive a custom coaster with their name and distance completed.

    Directions
    The New Year’s One Day will be held on Monday, December 31st at Crissy Field (East Beach) in San Francisco, CA.  Starting times for each event are as follows:
    • 24 hour – 9:00 a.m.
    • 12 hour – 12 noon
    • 6 hour – 6:00 p.m.
    Parking is available adjacent to the course at the East Beach parking lot & along Mason Street.

    Course
    Each lap is 1.061 miles (clockwise) around the lagoon at Crissy Field with spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz and the San Francisco Bay. The course is flat with 60% dirt and 40% asphalt path. USATF Certification code: CA09008RS
    The course isn’t lighted and we recommend having a flashlight available at night. Crissy Field is open and a flashlight might not be necessary if it is a clear night.
    Friends and family members are welcome to run some laps during the event to share in your experience. “Pacing” isn’t allowed. Generally, we want your achievement at New Year’s One Day (distance and/or place) to be a solo effort.
    No dogs allowed on the course. Please don't leave pets in your vehicle.

    Transponder Timing
    Each lap will be recorded using a timing transponder. Please wear the neoprene bracelet on your ankle for the transponder to be detected.
    Runners need to complete the full lap within the event time limit to receive credit for the distance.
    Aid Stations
    Fully-stocked, self-serve aid station every lap. You can expect fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, boiled potatoes & salt, soup, water, soda, and Clif Shot Electrolyte sports drink. 
    Personal tents are allowed for "resting". The park does not allow "camping" at Crissy Field. Tent stakes must not be longer than 4". Tables, chairs and coolers are acceptable.
    Restrooms are located adjacent to the course near the start/finish area.
    Post-Run Activities
    Awards Ceremony will be held 30 minutes after the 6 hr & 12 hr events and 45 minutes after the 24 hr event.
    Awards will be given to the first overall female and male finisher and to the first female and male finisher in each 10-year age group (< 20, 20-29, etc.). Overall winners do not qualify for age-group awards.
    Each runner will receive a custom award with their name and distance. We expect to send out the custom awards in early January.
    Message Board
    The Coastal Message Board is for information about Coastal events. Please post messages regarding places to eat or stay, sharing rides with fellow runners, etc. Go to Message Board (opens in a new window).
    Check In
    Please arrive 30 min before your event to check in and receive your bib and transponder.
