Coastal Online Coaching Program


Welcome to Coastal's online coaching program. We have partnered with Erin Vancellette from Wicked Training, SF. This program is designed to help you prepare for the distance of your choice by providing an outline for safe and effective in-depth training, tailored to your needs. Whether you are participating in your first trail run, trying a new distance, or trying to fine tune your performance, we have an option to suit your preference.

We've developed an 8 or 12 week mileage program for our related race distances, with careful consideration of adhering to sound training principles. By incorporating gradual build-up of mileage, rest days, recovery runs, hard efforts/hill work and long runs, you will get you to the finish line in fine form.

Coach and Trail Running Program (4)

  • Great for 5k, 10k, ½ marathon and marathon distances
  • 4 in-person weights or bodyweight training sessions with running coach, up to 10 weeks of individualized running programs, specific core conditioning exercises, basic speed and agility routine, dynamic warm-up exercises, specific core conditioning exercises, schedule of runs, stretching exercises.

    Get better at running, increase speed, decrease injuries.

    Coach and Trail Running Program (Lite)

  • Good for 5k, 10k and ½ marathon distances
  • 1 in-person outdoor session with running coach, 4 weeks of individualized running programs, base core conditioning exercises, dynamic warm-up exercises, schedule of runs, stretching exercises.

    Intro to running using a whole body approach, decrease injuries.

    Self-Guided Trail Running Program

  • Good for 5k, 10k distances
  • 4 - 8 Weeks of Running Programs customized to you - includes phone call with running coach, prescribed dynamic warm up exercises, schedule of runs, stretching exercises.

    Coach and Trail Running Program Endurance- Ultra 50’s (10)

  • Great for marathon, 50k & 50mile distances
  • 10 in-person weights or bodyweight training sessions with running coach, up to 16 weeks of individualized running programs, specific core conditioning exercises, dynamic warm-up exercises, schedule of runs, stretching exercises, nutrition guidance.

    Establish endurance baseline, whole body conditioning, decrease injuries.

  • Great for ultra-distances beyond 50 miles

    • A 1 hour follow-up phone consultation

    • An informational attachment covering important training concepts and tips
    • One-on-one e-mail access with your coach, with 1 weekly response complete with coaching tips

    The Coach - Erin Vancellette

    Erin’s running background covers a wide range of distances, primarily trail runs, most often landing her in the top percentile. She went from a 5k to a 50 miler in less than 2 years and has reached the podium many times since then.

    Erin runs because she love the way it feels. Propelling with the wind, uphill, down hills, around corners, waving to passerby’s, feeling the ground pass under her feet. It’s freedom. Being a part of nature. Doing what our bodies are built to do – move. Fourteen years of competitive rugby, dozens of years playing soccer and now an avid ultrarunner have shaped her into a well-rounded running coach with experience in endurance training, speed training, athletic conditioning and corrective exercise. Taking clients from running ground zero to a point that she actually needs to tell them to slow down is one of her goals. Once we can learn how to use our bodies in nature, we want it more. Erin’s goal is to help you get there.

    Whether this is your first 5k, 20th 50 miler or 1st 100 miler, she will build a plan that will help you complete your race safely, earn a PR (if you wish) and help you recover quickly for your next run.
